Character Education through Picture Books
This project will enhance a classroom library with a collection of picture books that reflects positive character traits. The books will help students develop empathy for others, perspective- talking skills and social problem-solving skills.
Brain Stimulation Sensory Focusing Chair
This Wobble chair will give students the opportunity to get their “wiggles” out during instruction time in the class without disrupting the entire class. This will benefit some students that need the extra support to reach their full potential.
School Counseling Department
The school counseling department utilizes various techniques to foster social/emotional development of students. These will be implemented in group counseling sessions as well as inside the classroom.
Multi-Sensory Manipulatives that Make a Difference
This project will provide a variety of manipulatives in the classroom for PreK students with developmental disabilities. All students will benefit and will help them build fine motor and cognitive skills as well as teach them the appropriate social and play skills
Guided Reading Short Reads Fiction from Scholastic
This selection of texts provides for effective differentiated instruction through short form fiction texts. This gives students multiple opportunities for deep, critical reading at every level.
