The ‘World Language Mobile Learning Cart’ brings language education to all classrooms and grade levels. Students learn language in a variety of resources including up-to-date game-based learning platforms and traditional paper-based activities.
This system can translate all speech into the listeners environment (20 languages and 42 dialects) as well as be paired up with the iPad to allow for conversation. This device can be used by all personnel in the school building to communicate to non-English speaking parents and/or students in an out of the classroom.
Funding for this project provides supplemental Spanish and ESL materials for fun, active problem solving centers. Language learning centers provide an opportunity for students to engage in individual and small group tasks and activities that require listening and speaking in Spanish.
This grant provides a class set of headphones with microphones for each building in district. This will compliment our iPad learning by allowing students to more efficiently engage in the three modes of communication.
The acquisition of iPads will provide learners in the World Language classrooms an opportunity to listen, read, record, collaborate, share and create with technology.
