Liberty Science Center Hands-On Technology
To promote critical thinking, collaboration, entrepreneurship, innovation and problem solving, the AP Physics students will attend the Extended Laboratory Workshop hosted by Liberty Science Center. Students will engage in the design and construction of a Trebuchet machine as well as program the micro-controller motor.
Using Heart Rate Monitors to Increase Fitness Level
The Physical Education departments will be utilizing heart rate monitors during class to enhance the activity levels of student. The goal of this project is to develop a greater fitness bases as well as enable students to monitor their progress/effort.
Band Room Sound System
With an average of 150 students utilizing the band room everyday, this grant helps to insure that each student has a positive and gratifying musical experience with a good and reliable sound system which includes an Onkyo receiver and Bose speakers.
Headsets for Content Creation
In order to help fulfill the Districts Personalized Learning Initiative, 24 headsets with microphones allow students to more efficiently create their own content on the iPads using apps such as ShowME, Educretions and Explain Everything. The headsets allow students to block out external noise while recording their thoughts and explanations.
Investigating the Sciences using Data Collection Probes
The Science department was awarded LabQuest2 handheld devices which provide students with the opportunity to quickly acquire real-time data and facilitate real world inquiry-based learning.
