Investigating the Sciences using Data Collection Probes
In conjunction with an iPad, the Science department will utilize LabQuest2 standalone Data Collection Devices to engage the students in ‘hands-on’ and ‘minds-on’ learning. The probes provide students with the opportunity to quickly acquire real-time data and facilitate real work inquiry-based learning in a STEM environment.
Auditorium Sound System Upgrade
Due to the multi-use nature of the auditorium and its impact on nearly every program and department within the school, upgrading the sound system provides immediate and long-lasting benefits for our students, faculty, parents, and community. By addressing the loudspeaker system, the audio upgrade will improve audio coverage, quality, and versatility to the sound system.
Digital Photography in the Twenty-first Century
Incorporating digital photography in to the art curriculum allows students to discover new and current photographic techniques as well as merge technology and art. This grant provided several digital Nikon SLR cameras as well as printer and various support materials.
Using Heart Rate Monitors to Increase Fitness Level
The Physical Education departments will be utilizing heart rate monitors during class to enhance the activity levels of student. The goal of this project is to develop a greater fitness bases as well as enable students to monitor their progress/effort.
Robotics Module
Building upon a previous grant, the Middle School introduced a Robotics module titled “RoboChallenge: Race Against Time”. The module builds on the experiences of the fourth and sixth grade models of design curriculum. The addition of the EV3 Robotics kit provides programmable intelligent bricks that control motors and sensors, as well as providing wireless communication.
