SMART Response Interactive Response System
The purpose of this grant is to enhance existing SMART Board technology within the middle school. Students are each assigned a remote which they can use to submit answers to prompts and questions presented on the SMART Board. The system can be used for pre-reading, prewriting, anticipatory sets and formal assessments. The most beneficial aspect of this program is that it gives each student a voice. This program has the option to keep the remotes anonymous to other students. With that protection, even those shy students will have ample opportunity to contribute to the class. The SMART system allows teachers to assess the readiness and comprehension levels of each class as a whole.
