International Festival
The International Festival is a bi-annual event that offers a simulated world tour for students and the community. In the past, this event has drawn over 800 people and provided multi-cultural experiences for travelers of all ages. Live performances of traditional dancing and drumming have been an exciting feature of this program and countries from around the world have been represented by student booths which offer authentic foods, crafts, games and other activities.
The event is designed to promote cultural awareness, understanding of diversity and tolerance while fostering pride in one’s own ethnic heritage. The NPEF grant will enable the Department of World Languages to continue upon the success of past programs and foster the large collaboration and efforts of well-established student clubs and organizations such as Amnesty International, the Student Service Organization, the National Honor Society, the Culinary Arts Club, and Environmental Awareness.
