Grants in Action

Technology Tools in the Science Classroom

The Middle School Science Department was looking to upgrade the data acquisition technology currently in use in the 7th and 8th grade classrooms.

This grant funded the purchase of Vernier Labquest handhelds, allowing students to quickly collect important data, save/catalogue data, and convert it into charts and graphs. This means that students will be spending more quality time reasoning and drawing conclusions. The handhelds helped bring data back and forth from the field to the classroom.

This grant request was funded through a grant from C.R. Bard Inc.
