Connecting Art, Consumerism & Math
This NPEF grant will not only allow students to investigate the connection between visual artistry and consumerism, but also teach them how advantageous mathematical graphing can be to design.
The graphing calculators allow students to visualize mathematical concepts in a way that contributes positively to their growing skill sets by making connections between algebraic expressions and their associated graphical transformations.
In addition, the laptops are an essential component to the project as the students conduct their own research on corporate logos and mission goals of individual firms. The grant will help purchase 1 laptop cart with 6 laptops, a printer, and 20 Texas Instrument TI-Nspire graphing calculators.
