After School Remedial Program – Language Arts Literacy and Math
In order to meet the goal of every child performing at the proficient range, the Middle School would like to organize and facilitate a supplemental after school remedial program that assists the current seventh graders in the areas of Language Arts / Literacy and Mathematics.
Although Special Education and Basic Skills services are being delivered during the regular school day, this program provides further assistance to students in need and helps them to expand their thinking and ultimately strengthen their skills. Two teachers will develop an eight week program of study consisting of lessons in Mathematics and Language Arts/Literacy.
This program mirrors the successful after-school remedial programs which occurred at the middle school two years ago and the elementary schools last year with grants from the NPEF.
