General FAQ

Can I run with a jogging stroller and my kids?

YES – Strollers are allowed and we encourage the whole family to run! Given this is a certified Grand Prix USATF race, we will ask the strollers to allow the runners to be toward the front of the line

Can I run with my dog?

For the safety of our runners, we do not allow animals to run with you.

Is there an age limit for younger runners?

No age limits! If they can cover (running, jogging, walking, strolling) the three miles of course, they can participate. We will also have games/races for the younger children. The following Fun Run that starts at 10am will have the following races by age groups:

• Ages 3-5 – 50 yrd dash
• Ages 5-7 – 400 meters / 1/4 miles or once around the track
• Ages 8-10 – 800 meters/ 1/2 miles or twice around the track

Are there refunds?

Unfortunately, we cannot issue refunds.

Is the event timed?

Yes the race is timed. This is an official race timed by Compuscore.

Can I walk the course?

Of course! We do ask that walkers please start behind the runners.

What is included with my Registration?

Participants receive a NPEF 5k t-shirt, race bib and a few other goodies in a re-usable bag.

When and where do I pick up my race packet?

There will be Saturday, October 15th Pick up at the NPHS location between 10-12 Noon and 3-6pm. Registration can also be done. Same day registration pick up can happen starting at 8am.

Can someone else pickup my race packet for me?

Yes they are welcome to pick up your race packet

What if I get tired or pull a muscle and can’t complete the course?

There will be volunteers stationed throughout the course to contact assistance. Medic Rescue is on standby the day of the 5K. There is also police support stationed throughout the course as well, if additional assistance is needed.

Are restrooms available along the route?

Restroom facilities will be available at the high school.

Will water be provided along the race route?

Yes there will be one water station mid way through the race.

Will refreshments be provided?

Fruit and water are available at the end of the race.

Will you have a bag check?

No, a bag check will not be provided.

If I am not interested in running or walking a 5K, can I still show up and support the cause somehow?

Yes. You can always make a donation in support of the 5K. We are also in need of volunteers that can help on the day of the 5K.

Do I have to have pledges/sponsors?

We strongly encourage individuals to find sponsors although, it is not required. There is, however, a registration fee to participate.

Can I sign up on the day of the 5K?

You are able to register the day of the 5K. There is a slightly higher registration fee, and you are not guaranteed a T-shirt. We also ask that you please be patient when waiting in line.
